Cincinnati’s Charlie Millikin writes the kind of massively catchy Pop songs that put him one tiny piece of good exposure away from breaking out on a wide scale.
Millikin’s latest, “All These Things,” is no different, containing an endless stream of hooks and melodies that are primed to reach a huge audience. Beyond the music, it also has a hopeful message to help it connect even more — the song is about anxiety and self doubt, buoyed by an infectious chorus that ends with the therapeutic line, “I keep telling myself I’m gonna be alright.”
“I’ve suffered and continue to suffer with pretty severe anxiety, which at times can be immobilizing and very scary,” Millikin wrote on his Facebook page last week when the video dropped. “I wrote this after a pretty intense panic attack I had before a show a couple years back. I really wanted to try and put those feelings into this song.”
Millikin is donating a portion of the proceeds from the sale of “All These Things” to the Brain and Behavior Research Foundation. The single is available on all major download and streaming platforms. Click here for more info.
