Crossroad Health Center, a federally qualified health center, hosted its ribbon-cutting for a new facility as part of a $14.6 million redevelopment project for the Over-the-Rhine area.
On Tuesday, City of Cincinnati officials and leaders at Cincinnati Center City Development Corp. (3CDC) unveiled the new facility, located at 1712 Race Street, which replaces the former Over-the-Rhine Recreation Center site. It is part of a broader $100 million redevelopment effort led by the city, 3CDC and partners to revitalize the area north of Liberty Street.
The new building stands 21,500-square-feet.
“At Crossroad Health Center, we strive to treat the whole person ─ body, mind, and spirit,” said Jamie Berrens, CEO for Crossroad Health Center. “With our new facility, we can do this on a larger scale, treating more patients at once and providing additional services like a pharmacy, and in the future, dental care.”
The previous health center, at 5 E. Liberty had limited space, outdated infrastructure and access challenges for patients, according to a press release.
The updated health center includes expanded services such as a pharmacy and dental care. The project also added a 109-space parking lot, known as Findlay Lot, for patients, staff and public use.
