This weekend one of the Midwest’s most well-respected music festivals comes to Louisville, Ky. The Forecastle Festival, now in its eighth year, will be headlined by acts such as The Avett Brothers, The Black Keys, Widespread Panic and The Black Crowes plus more than 65 other bands and DJs. Billed as “one of the top 33 festivals in the country,” by Paste Magazine, there’s something to do there for every creative mind. Musicians can go and meet promoters and label execs, artists can exhibit work and sit in on sustainability-inspired workshops, while environmentalists can school and schmooze with fellow go-greeners at tons of panels and movies. Whatever you do there, remember that Forecastle is all about bringing people together from across the Midwest. With Forecastle campgrounds now completely sold out, procrastinating Cincinnatians are lucky to be close enough to make the daily commute. You can even ride your bike there if you want. Forecastle Festival goes from Friday-Sunday. Tickets are $40 per day or $100 for the whole weekend.
