Praying for Immigration Reform

Local clergy, civic leaders and residents will participate Tuesday in the National Day of Fasting and Prayer for Immigration Reform.

Cincinnati's prayer vigil will be held at the Su Casa Hispanic Center in Carthage.—-

Organizers want participants to “unite in prayer for a common purpose: To pray for an end to family separation due to deportations, to lament the broken immigration system, and to ask God for guidance on the way forward.”

Also, speakers will discuss their personal experiences of either struggling to gain respect or of recognizing the need to embrace immigrants as fellow residents.

Cincinnati's vigil is part of a nationwide, grassroots effort to focus attention on humane immigration reform at the Congressional level.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 6:30 p.m. It will held at the center, 7036 Fairpark Ave., in northern Cincinnati.
