If you’d told people standing in line in 1973 to see the youthful, dangerous pre-Punk outfit New York Dolls that in almost 40 years the band would still be going strong-ish, they’d probably have laughed in your face. Though not all members made it into the new millennium (everyone but David Johansen and Sylvain Sylvain is dead), the Dolls have continued on since reforming for a Morrissey-curated concert in 2004. The band performed with a couple of bands that owe their existence to the Dolls — the former make-up-lovin’ Rock crews Poison and Motley Crue — earlier this summer at Riverbend, but this Tuesday they’ll play at Radiodown (in the same building as The Mad Hatter, 620 Scott St., Covington) for those who couldn’t stomach the Hair Metal crowds. The band is supporting its well-received latest album, Dancing Backward in High Heels. Veteran local Punk band SS-20 and impressive newer-comers Oso Bear open the 7 p.m. show.
