This week marks the return of the MidPoint Music Festival to the clubs and venues of downtown and Over-the-Rhine Thursday, Sept. 25-Saturday, Sept. 27. In the fest’s 13-year history, it has grown a lot from its origins as a showcase for unsigned acts. Today, MidPoint features adventurous and critically acclaimed artists from around the world, regardless of their label affiliation (or lack thereof).

MidPoint is, at its essence, a festival of discovery. Ask anyone who has fully immersed themselves in the MPMF experience over the past few years and they’ll tell you that taking a chance on an unknown-to-you act is far from a risky proposition. There aren’t many better feelings than unexpectedly being blown away by a musical act in a live setting. And MidPoint is all about that feeling.

Read interview with MPMF 2014’s most anticipated acts — Chromeo, St. Paul and the Broken Bones, Jessica Lea Mayfield and Cincinnati-spawned greats The Afghan Whigs. Check out a full schedule of potential future headliners here. Visit MPMF.com for the latest updates, as well as all of the festival’s social media outlets — @MidPointMusic on Twitter, @midpointmusicfestival on Instragram and facebook.com/midpointmusicfestival. And our visitors’ guide for those new to the city.

The social networks will be pushing out updates (such as schedule changes, cancelations, etc.) throughout the event. You can also follow MPMF-related Twitter and Instagram posts (and build your very own schedule) through the fest’s free app, which can be found at live.mpmf.com.
