Roe v. Wade, the landmark 1973 Supreme Court case that legalized women’s right to have abortions, is arguably the most defining moment in the arena of women’s reproductive rights that most of us will experience in our lifetime. Thanks to a slew of increasingly loony remarks from the GOP over the past year, the women’s health arena has been a bit volatile lately, but that’s all the more reason to celebrate what has stayed the same and take public your support for women to maintain jurisdiction over their own bodies when it comes to decisions about reproductive health and pregnancy. Sassy Ohio State Senator Nina Turner, who last year proposed legislation requiring extensive testing to receive Viagra prescriptions in direct response to the restrictive “Heartbeat Bill,” is the featured speaker. 6-8 p.m. $40 includes dinner and program.
