Following on the heels of the behind-the-scenes documentary on Justin Bieber, this take on Pop sensation Katy Perry (from directors Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz who served as producers on the Bieb’s Never Say Never) aims to highlight the positive aspects of her rise to fame, in order to inspire her young fans. While I generally avoid the celebrity gossip angle, I think it will be interesting to see how the film handles the Perry-Russell Brand fallout, since this could certainly serve as her opportunity to tell her side of the story. Now in theaters. (PG)
