Do you have a bunch of useless flammable liquids lying around the house? Or what about antifreeze, batteries, fertilizers, oil-based paint or dead LED bulbs?

Safely dispose of them during Hamilton County’s Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Day on Oct. 24.

From 9 a.m.-2 p.m. that Saturday, you can bring any of the icky and dangerous materials listed at hamiltoncountyrecycles.org to a location Norwood, where they’ll be unloaded and disposed of.

These items are unacceptable: Latex paint, unknown gas cylinders, large quantities of unknown materials, radioactive waste (including smoke detectors), unstable waste and reactive materials requiring stabilization, fireworks, explosives, gun powder, flares and ammunition, controlled substances regulated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, biohazardous and Infectious wastes, any item prohibited from transportation per US DOT, yard trimmings, tires, garbage.

This is only for residents, not schools or churches or businesses or nonprofits. And everyone must register in advance hamiltoncountyrecycles.org.

When you register, you’ll get the location specifics and be able to select a drop-off hour. Stick the hazardous materials toward the back of your vehicle, where workers will be able to remove them without making contact with you.

If you can’t make the Oct. 24 drop off, call 513-946-7766 for info about how else you can get rid of your hazardous waste.
