“Ah — the beer that sings, baba.” That’s how a new commercial video promoting “Bootsy Brewski IPA” — a beer in honor of Cincinnati native and global music icon Bootsy Collins — begins.
A collaboration between Collins, his Bootsy Collins Foundation and Fretboard Brewing Company, you can be the first to taste the beer this Friday (Aug. 16) at 6 p.m. at the kick-off of Fretboard’s Over the Top Festival. The two-day event — presented by Sammy’s Craft Burgers and Beer — features live music, competitive arm wrestling and more.
Running Friday, 6 p.m.-midnight, and Saturday, noon-midnight, the Over the Top event is raising money and awareness for Operation Give Back, a Blue Ash-based non-profit that promotes “education, personal/spiritual growth and civic unity.”
