Share: Cheesebar is a reflection of its owner, Emily Frank. Fused with a sense of energetic calm, she takes whatever comes her way in stride. After all, that’s what she says an entrepreneur does: figures it out.

After six years of owning C’est Cheese gourmet grilled cheese food truck, a Queen City staple, the transition to a cheese-focused brick-and-mortar felt natural.

“The truck is going really well and the city has been kind and embraced us, but I started a couple of years ago thinking ‘OK, what’s next?’ ” Frank says. “I don’t want to be in a food truck for the rest of my life.”

A step up from the nostalgic ooze of grilled cheese, Frank looked toward a more refined presentation when creating Share’s concept — the cheese plate, minus the pretension.

When finding a home for her cheese aspirations, Frank looked to her own neighborhood, Pleasant Ridge. Once lined with vacant shops, the main drag is now home to a host of cool, local endeavors, including Nine Giant Brewing, whose opening several years ago made the area perfect from a business standpoint, according to Frank. Share: Cheesebar opened in Last July.

The shop has now been open for business for a year and has made quite the name for themselves within their community and beyond. They hosted a wildly popular fondue night in the winter, began offering take-and-bake grilled cheeses in the spring and have hosted plenty of other specialty nights such as burrata night, sandwich night and evenings of cheese pairings with local breweries.

To celebrate their year of cheesy success, they are offering specials throughout the week and a happy-hour party from 1-9 p.m. on Friday, July 27. The celebration will include, “cheese samples, giveaways, surprises and good cheer,” according to Share: Cheesebar’s Facebook cover photo.
