A popular West Side diner that’s been serving coneys, double-deckers and all-day breakfast from its location along Glenway Avenue for decades is preparing to close temporarily.
J&J Restaurant posted a sign saying that its last day in business at 6159 Glenway Ave. in Westwood will be Tuesday, May 13.
“Due to circumstances beyond our control, we’ve been forced to leave our current business location. The current landlord has refused to renew our lease,” the sign reads. “Serving this community has meant the world to us, and we’re incredibly proud of what we built together. We want to express our deepest gratitude for your loyalty and support over the last 50 years and look forward to serving the community at our new location.”
J&J says it will reopen at 5939 Harrison Ave. in Dent. The restaurant says it will share updates on its Facebook page, as well as its website, but hopes to be running again sometime this August.
