A new bookstore focusing on love stories, as well as friendship, family and community, is opening in Covington at the end of October.
Poor Charlotte’s Books, Greater Cincinnati’s first-ever brick-and-mortar romance bookstore, is located at 112 W. Pike St. and will host its grand opening on Oct. 25 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The grand opening will offer sticker giveaways, raffles, macarons and more.
“We are so excited to bring romance to the region,” shop owner Leslie Schicht said in a press release. “It feels so good to walk into a space that centers what you love, and, in this case, it’s romance novels! We can’t wait to bring readers together by hosting book clubs, reading parties and just talking romance with readers in the store.”
The bookstore will offer all genres of romance, including contemporary, fantasy, historical and more. There will also be LGBTQ+ titles in all genres, plus a selection of general fiction and nonfiction that focus on themes of love, community, friends and family.
“Nothing too heavy on our shelves. We focus on stories that bring joy and inspiration to readers, stories that offer hope and escape,” said Schicht.
Once open, Poor Charlotte’s Books’ store hours will be Thursdays from 4-7 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.
