Today, the Cincinnati Reds unveiled their latest City Connect uniforms, and they are, well… very red.

The uniforms feature red Nike jerseys and pants accented by dark red piping and sleeves, black numbers, white lettering and red Stance socks. A red New Era cap, which also features pinstripes, showcases the stylized “C” logo that debuted as part of last year’s City Connect series.

”Red is at the center of this next chapter in our City Connect story,” said Karen Forgus Bowman, Reds Chief Communications and Community Officer. “Bringing it forward in this fresh new way speaks to the energy of today’s players and fans being rooted in the eras of Reds baseball that continue through them.”

The appearance of the jerseys was known to fans well in advance, as the podcast Talkin’ Baseball posted a leaked photo of the new City Connect jerseys on Twitter/X on March 30.

Most MLB teams have a City Connect jersey that often pays tribute to the city’s culture or past. Last year, the Reds debuted their first: an all-black jersey with red accents and “CINCY” written across the front in bold, block letters.

This year, the extremely red uniforms you see here are a tribute to the Reds’ famous pinstripe-vest jerseys from two decades ago.

As mentioned, the pinstripes are revived as a classic element, but in a modernized tone-on-tone style. The sleeve in this City Connect uniform is a darker shade of red, and the jersey’s pinstripes are intentionally cut off at the shoulder, which is a nod to the vest style of the original uniforms. Additionally, a sleeve graphic features the iconic Tyler Davidson Fountain that sits at Fountain Square.

Reds players will wear the new Nike City Connect uniforms at all Saturday home games. Thankfully, the first City Connect uniforms that debuted last year—in this writer’s opinion, one of the best uniforms the Reds have ever had—will continue to be worn during Friday home games due to their rampant popularity.

The Reds will debut their newest jerseys this Saturday when they face the Los Angeles Angels. For tickets, head to the Cincinnati Reds official website. For more pictures, see below.
