Kentuckians For The Commonwealth is partnering with Roebling Books and Darkness Brewing for a Boozy Book Fair fundraiser on Sept. 19 from 3 to 9 p.m.
The event will be at Darkness Brewing, located at 224 Fairfield Ave. in Bellevue. It will feature a Boozy Book Fair from Roebling Books from 3 to 7 p.m., including some Roebling Books Book Fairy selections; readings from Kentucky authors Amy Le Ann Richardson, LeTonia Jones, Kareem Simpson and Phyllis Tyler.
A happy hour will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. with $1 from all drinks donated to Kentuckians For The Commonwealth. There will also be an open mic, emceed by local writer and host of The Wild Onion Open Mic series, Samuel T. Phillips, from 7 to 9 p.m. for folks to share music, poetry or stories.
Kentuckians For The Commonwealth is a grassroots community organization in Kentucky that works for social, racial, economic and environmental justice. It was founded statewide in 1981, and the Northern Kentucky chapter has existed since May 2010.
