The Flying Pig Marathon is dominating the weekend in Cincinnati, but there’s still plenty more to eat, drink and do whether you’re getting up early to run or not.

Flying Pig Marathon Weekend

Friday – Sunday, downtown and everywhere

Pretty much every part of the city will be celebrating our famous marathon in some form or fashion. Not only are the 5K, 10K, Flying Fur, 26th Mile, Flying Piglet and PigAbilities races on Saturday and the half marathon, full marathon and relay race on Sunday, but there’s also the Fitness Expo, the Family Fun Festival, the Fifty West Mile, the victory party at Smale Park and plenty more. And that’s just the official events!

2026 Cincy Cinco Latino Festival

Saturday – Sunday, Fountain Square, downtown

Cincy-Cinco Latino Festival is back at Fountain Square on May 2–3 for a vibrant, two-day celebration of Latin flavor, music and culture. Enjoy authentic street food from a dozen local and regional restaurants, dance to live salsa, merengue and bachata performances, and experience colorful folkloric showcases representing various countries. Families can take part in games, piñatas, raffles, a Conga parade and hands-on children’s activities.

CSO: The Music of Star Wars

Friday – Sunday, Music Hall, Over-the-Rhine

Next Monday is Star Wars Day, and Cincinnati Pops is taking you to galaxies far, far away. Head to Music Hall as the Cincinnati Pops performs the best music from across the Star Wars universe by John Williams, Michael Giacchino and Ludwig Göransson. From “The Imperial March” to “Rey’s Theme,” you’ll hear music from the films in the Skywalker saga, plus the TV series and more. Arrive early for free lightsaber training and a Star Wars trivia session.

Run for the Roses

Saturday, 5 p.m., Newport on the Levee, Newport

Head to Newport on the Levee this weekend to enjoy watching a different sort of run. The 152nd Kentucky Derby is Saturday, and Newport on the Levee has a giant watch party complete with live horse betting and plenty of Mint Juleps to go around.

Prost to Spring at Hofbrauhaus Maifest

Friday, 6 p.m., Hofbrauhaus, Newport

Celebrate the arrival of spring at the Hofbräuhaus Maifest celebration. The popular bar and restaurant promises Bavarian flavor, live music in the biergarten and the keg tapping of their Jubiläum Anniversary Lager. Plus, DJs from WREW 94.9 The Mix will provide music and entertainment.

Spring Fest from Artisan Market Place

Saturday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Washington Park, Over-the-Rhine

Local vendors, artists and sellers will set up shop at Washington Park to sell unique items while celebrating the changing of the seasons.

Mahjong Tournament at Factory 52

Friday, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Factory 52’s Market Alley, Norwood

Local group Southern Belle Mahjong, which hosts beginner classes, leagues and social events related to mahjong around Cincinnati, is putting on a mahjong tournament Friday at Factory 52.

GrowFest 2026: Plant Sale

Friday, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Civic Garden Center, Walnut Hills

GrowFest celebrates all things urban agriculture each year. At their annual plant sale, they source and grow favorite and hard-to-find plants to set you up for a rewarding and successful growing season. Examples of plants on sale are plenty of classic warm weather crops, CGC-grown rare and heirloom veggie starts, a rainbow of herbs, native and native cultivar shrubs (including dwarf options), native spring ephemerals and native trees.

43 senior fashion designers at the University of Cincinnati’s DAAP program will present their capstone garments on the runway at the MegaCorp Pavilion tomorrow. The audience experience will replicate that of international Fashion Weeks in the style capitals of the world, with hundreds of distinctive garments and live video to highlight the detail and unique elements of each piece.
