Following a two-week soft opening, California natives Rodney and Janine De Iorio will officially celebrate the grand opening of their coffee shop and tap house Brewd with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday at 34 E. Court St.
CityBeat spoke with the couple last month about the cafe and bar. Rodney De Iorio told us that his goal for the space is for it to resemble Central Perk, the fictional coffeehouse in the classic sitcom Friends. They’ve created a menu that will pay tribute to the couple’s SoCal heritage, with items like carne asada fries and California-style breakfast burritos sitting alongside typical cafe fare like pastries and sandwiches.
The public is invited to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday morning at 10 a.m. just outside Brewd’s front doors. To mark the grand opening, Brewd will offer all-day happy hour specials, including $2 off draft beer, 25% off cocktails, 25% off fries and tots and $1 off any coffee or tea purchase.
The celebration continues at 5:30 p.m. with a “Lattes & Lecture” event, featuring local historian Anne Senefeld of Digging Cincinnati History, who will explore the history of Brewd’s Court Street location.
“It is incredibly rewarding to see the vision for Brewd come to life,” said co-owner Janine De Iorio. “We’re excited to take a moment to celebrate with our neighbors.”
Following the grand opening, Brewd will be open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., Tuesday 6 a.m. to 11 a.m., and Saturday and Sunday 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. A schedule of events and activations at the space can be found online on Brewd’s website.
