To help find older cats new fur-ever homes, Kenton County Animal Services in Covington has a unique adoption special. Until the end of July, all cats 1 year and older can be adopted for just $25. All of the available cats are spayed or neutered and have received their first round of vaccinations. They even come with a microchip registered to their new owner.
Adult cats all have some sort of backstory, says Sam Helt, volunteer coordinator for Kenton County Animal Services. Be flexible when you bring them home for the first time, let them decompress and get used to your house. We also recommend spending time with them before you officially adopt them.
To see all available cats, visit the Kenton County Animal Services’ adoption site at bit.ly/3wD7HiS or its Facebook page. Call 859-356-7400 or email Animal Services at animal.shelter@kentoncounty.org with questions about the adoption process. Applicants can apply online at bit.ly/3e4hoRb or by visiting the shelter, located at 1020 Mary Laidley Drive in Covington.
Kenton County Animal Services is open noon-6 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; noon-4 p.m. Wednesday; and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday.
