Salem
Age: 2 Years Old / Breed: Australian Shepherd / Sex: Male / Rescue: Stray Animal Adoption Program
Salem, a 2 year old Australian Shepherd who is now on the market for his forever home. He’s a happy boy and gets along well with other dogs, but doesn’t necessarily like to be bossed around by other dogs. Loves humans, kids included but I’d be careful around young kids not because he’s mean but because he does jump for attention and weighs 70lbs. He doesn’t have a ton of commands that I can tell, but seems like he will be a quick learner.
Photo: Stray Animal Adoption ProgramLeona
Age: 4 Months Old /Breed: Domestic Long Hair / Sex: Female / Rescue: Purrfect Friends
Leona is such a sweetheart, loves to be held and loved. She’s a fluffy youngster, around 3-4 months old – playful and affectionate and curious and adorable! 3 kitties were found wandering around in a rural neighborhood in Adams County. They weren’t in too bad of shape although another one had been attacked by a dog and killed; we took these 3 in to help find new loving homes
Photo: Purrfect FriendsAdelaide
Age: 1.5 Years Old / Breed: Australian Cattle Dog Mix / Sex: Female / Rescue: Sweet Dream House Rescue
Gorgeous Adelaide the Australian Cattle Dog mix is looking for a furever home. This beautiful young Blue Heeler mix is about 1.5 years old and fully grown at a petite 23 lbs. She’s dog friendly and ignores cats. Her magnificent ears look like they could pick up radio signals from faraway places like, well, Adelaide, Australia. We would love to find Adelaide a home with a fenced yard and a herding breed-experienced adopter.
Photo: Sweet Dream House RescueAvi
Age: 5 Years Old / Breed: Husky / Sex: Male / Rescue: Louies Legacy Animal Rescue
Meet Avi! He is the true meaning of rescue. Avi used to live with an abusive owner, until we changed his path! He has come so far, and has been clicker trained, but is still healing and will need a patient adopter who is willing to continue his training. He is 4-5 years old and weighs around 55 lbs. He loves everyone he meets, but is not good with children or cats, and doesnt understand why they move so fast. He is slow to trust, but very playful and affectionate once he knows he is safe. Avi will jump a fence that is smaller than 6 ft tall, and will need long daily walks. He currently lives with and loves his boxer bulldog mix foster brother, but knows he is the pretty one! A home with another playful husky or other dog similar in size would be ideal!
Photo: Louies Legacy Animal RescueAvry
Age: Young / Breed: Shepherd / Sex: Male / Rescue: Stray Animal Adoption Program
Arvy is a handsome Shepherd mix who made his way to SAAP after being dumped in a park. Despite his rough start in life Arvy loves everyone! Arvy already knows sit and loves to play fetch. He will even bring the ball back to you! He is still working on crate and potty training. Arvy also is teething and his adopters will need to have plenty of teething toys to redirect his play biting to toys instead of humans. Arvy is super smart and does great with other dogs. His fosters fo not have cats or kids but think he would be fine with both. Arvy has gained some weight since arriving to his foster home but another additional pound or two wouldn’t hurt. He is an awesome dog who just needs patient adopters as he has typical puppy behaviors. Arvy can’t wait to meet his forever family!

Age: 3 Years Old / Breed: Shar-Pei Mix / Sex: Male / Rescue: Furgotten Dog Rescue Inc.
I am a 3-year-old Shar-Pei mix weighing 55#. Dont let my looks fool you, I am a big baby! I am friendly with people when I am not on my turf (house/yard). I will need time (anf lots of treats) to warm up to a stranger.I walk well on a leash, but will react toward animals on a leash. I am animal aggressive in general and need to be an ONLY PET in the home. I have not been desensitized to small children. They kind of freak me out for some reason. Teens are cool 🙂 What can I say I am a is a typical, poorly socialized Pei. My dominant and territorial nature is normal, but difficult to manage. I will require consistent follow through with my training including socialization with other dogs (on a leash on walks) and territorial behavior. Free in-home training comes with my adoption fee.
Photo: Furgotten Dog Rescue Inc.Diego
Age: 9 Years Old / Breed: Terrier Mix / Sex: Male / Rescue: Save the Animals Foundation
Several months and a few home visits later, we have better insight on Diego and what he needs in a home. After spending time in the home of one of his favorite volunteers, we have this glowing review: He is excellent in the house, no accidents, no getting into things, lays at my feet in whatever room I am in. He would LOVE to be on the couch snuggling or sleeping at the foot of the bed. He loves his tennis ball but it’s a slow-motion leisure toss and retrieve game. He’s also great in the yard, going potty on command, minimal barking at neighbors just to let them know he’s there. He’s good on leash, can pull a bit but falls into step when corrected. He knows basic commands.

Age: 1 Year Old / Breed: Domestic Short Hair / Sex: Female / Rescue: Crazy Cats Animal Rescue
I am about 1 yr old. I was trapped as part of a TNR (trap, neuter, return) program but once I was trapped they quickly realized that I was friendly and adoptable so instead of being released back outside I was put up for adoption. I am very sweet and affectionate but I do growl because I just dont know how to communicate that well yet but Im learning. I am a little temperamental sometimes but Ill grow out of that once Im settled. I do not like other pets at all so Id be best as an only cat.
Photo: Crazy Cats Animal RescueClue
Age: 3 Years Old / Breed: Pointer Mix / Sex: Female / Rescue: Louies Legacy Animal Rescue
Clue is a 3 year old, 34 pound Pointer Mix. She has amazing energy and loves to show you how much she loves you by wiggling with her entire body. She loves to go for walks, do zoomies in the backyard and play with her stuffed animals. She is a lap baby and will follow her person from room to room. She is becoming more confident while riding in the car. She loves attention and pets from those who she meets, but sometimes she needs a little bit of time to warm up to people.
Photo: Louies Legacy Animal RescueChessie
Age: 1 Year Old / Breed: Domestic Short Hair / Sex: Male / Rescue: Save the Animals Foundation
Love Bug alert! Chester is IT: he is one contented, purr-y, snuggly kitten. This sleek striped tabby was rescued as a tiny tyke by STAFs TNR (trap-neuter-release) team from a perilous environment on the grounds of a trailer park. The teams fearless leader fostered him in her home until he was big and strong enough to come into the shelter. Chester is very even-tempered and amenable. Everyone he meets, feline and human, is a new friend. He loves to hang out and tousle with other young active kitties. Although not the overly crazy type, he is enthusiastic about sweatshirt cords, shoelaces and other fun toys. Youll love this guy, so make a beeline to STAFyoull be so very happy you did!
Photo: Save the Animals FoundationChloe Bridgette
Age: 6 Years Old / Breed: Tabby & Abyssinian Mix / Sex: Female / Rescue: Purrfect Friends
Betsy, Brianna, and Bridgette were found at a local Speedway…..would have grown up feral if we had not taken them in. Bridgette was adopted as a kitten and was renamed Chloe. Sadly her original family went through a divorce and we took her back. She was born around 4/15/2014. She has the prettiest, sleekest coat – very abyssinian like! She can be timid at first and is most social in the evening. Once she knows you, just put your hand out and she will do all the work – she is a self petter! She has been fostered with other cats and is not dominant at all. She is very sweet and quite pretty. She was adopted in 2018, but returned 1 1/2 years later. The family got kittens and Chloe Bridgette was being to shy for the family. Poor girl. She is beautiful and uncomplicated and would do best in a quiet home.
Photo: Purrfect FriendsCooper
Age: 8 Years Old / Breed: Beagle / Sex: Male / Rescue: Sweet Dream House Rescue
Cooper is a sweet quiet beagle looking for a new furever home. He is housebroken, dog, cat and people friendly, walks well on a leash and is apartment-friendly. Cooper is 8 years old and about 25 lbs. This guy is basically perfect.
Photo: Sweet Dream House RescueDeclan
Age: Adult / Breed: Beagle / Sex: Male / Rescue: Stray Animal Adoption Program
This dashing boy will win you over with his good looks and charm! Declan loves his people and seems good with all ages. Declan is young and still has a couple puppy like manners- he tends to mouth when trying to get you to play but is redirected easily. He really wants to please you.Declan loves dog toys and learning the game of fetch! He is treat motivated and will sit for his food and his treats! Working on down and stay. Declan is good with other dogs but chases cats so no cats is recommended for this boy! He is quiet in his crate but has to be coaxed in and he is smart as he knows what you are trying to do with those treats!
Photo: Stray Animal Adoption ProgramHarvey Danger
Age: 3 Months Old / Breed: Domestic Short Hair / Sex: Male / Rescue: Louies Legacy Animal Rescue
Meet the one hit wonders! These kittens are the life of the party! One kitten, Dee-Lite is a domestic long hair and her litter mates are all domestic short hair. These babies are approximately 3 months old and litter box trained. They love to play among themselves and with their mom. These kittens are well socialized but can swat at hands and feet in an attempt to play. This play is all in fun but could scare small children. The wonders love a laser pointer and just about any other type of cat toy you can find! Even a shoe lace is exciting! The wonders have, in small increments, met dogs and was okay with them but these dogs didn’t give chase to them. They have not met cats or kittens outside of their family but love to play and snuggle with each other. The one hit wonders would love to make themselves a part of your family!
Photo: Louies Legacy Animal RescueIndigo
Age: 6 Months Old / Breed: Domestic Short Hair / Sex: Male / Rescue: Louies Legacy Animal Rescue
Indigo is part of this colorful April litter. Theyve brought sunshine to quarantine and will bring light and love to your home as well! The Rainbow Litters mama showed up close to their time of birth and made her fosters sunroom her maternity ward! They have been active, healthy, and adorable every day! Indigo is a sweet little man and one of the tiniest in his litter. He loves and plays fiercely. He *will* try to hog both the toys and your affection! With his unique white belly and lovable personality, hes the total cutie pie package! He is neutered, litter-trained, up-to-date on vaccines, and ready to play with you and receive your undying love
Photo: Louies Legacy Animal RescueKabuki
Age: 6 Years Old / Breed: Whippet / Boxer Mix / Sex: Female / Rescue: Save the Animals Foundation
Kabuki is joyful and spunky and will be a loyal and loving family member; always there by your side, through good times and bad. This girl loves to smile! Lovable Kabukis story is sad and all too familiar … she used to have a home and a human she loved. Although Kabuki had been a member of the mans family for over 3 years, he met a new girl and when her dogs were not getting along with Kabuki. He was handed an ultimatum and he chose the girlfriend and her dogs over Kabuki. We are on a mission to find Kabuki a home that will be there through thick and thin, provide her lots of love and devoted to being her family when she reaches her senior years; a home she has never known and always deserved.
Photo: Save the Animals FoundationKiwi
Age: 8 Years Old / Breed: Tabby / Sex: Female / Rescue: Save the Animals Foundation
Kiwi was rescued as a pregnant mom, when her owner lost his home and a Good Samaritan feared a neighbor was abusing her. Her brood was the fruit and nut litter: Plum, Fig, Pistachio, Papaya and Filbert. A quiet personality who is not immediately comfortable with people, this little tabby warms up when she gets to know you. Kiwi has an adorable rounded face with beautiful green eyes. A sunny window is a must, as she loves nothing better than a perch where she can bask in the warmth and gaze out at the birds
Photo: Save the Animals FoundationLil
Age: Young / Breed: Domestic Short Hair / Sex: Female / Rescue: Stray Animal Adoption Program
Fall is upon us, and sweet Lil is looking for the perfect human to share some warm snuggles and purrs with! She is young, a tiny little girl at only 2 lbs, and about as laid-back as a kitten comes. She loves her toys, and you are guaranteed instant purrs as soon as you pick her up!
Photo: Stray Animal Adoption ProgramMacie
Age: 2 Years Old / Breed: Labrador Retriever Mix / Sex: Female / Rescue: Louies Legacy Animal Rescue
Macie is about 2 years old and is just under 50lbs. We believe her to be a lab mix. Her early life is unknown but it is clear that she had little to no interaction with people. Thankfully, Louie’s Legacy stepped in, and we are working to make sure she never has to live like that again! Because of this, Macie can be very fearful of new situations. She should not be in a home with children. She has shown herself to be very smart and eager to learn, and for that we are very hopeful that she will find the perfect adopter to help her continue to learn to be brave. An adopter must be very patient with her and be willing to continue working with a trainer to help her be the very best dog she can be.
Photo: Louies Legacy Animal RescuePoufi-Tail
Age: 4 Months Old / Breed: Domestic Medium Hair / Sex: Female / Rescue: Purrfect Friends
POUFI-TAIL is a gorgeous, silvery grey tabby with fawn undertones. Her tail is fluffy; and has a crook or a kink in it, so it sort of bends at about 3/4 of it’s length, which makes her tail look shorter, but all poufy! She’s sweet and affectionate and loves to play with a feather wand! She’s such a cutie; about 3-4 months old.
Photo: Purrfect FriendsPuddin
Age: Adult / Breed: American Shorthair / Sex: Female / Rescue: Lucky Tales Rescue
Meet Puddin–she is honestly a favorite in the rescue! She is SUPER sweet but has been through a lot. She was stuck in a shelter for a long while, went through a hurricane, and shipped to KY. I am a very easy going, relaxed, and calm cat. I prefer my days lounging around being lazy! I am very submissive to other cats, so I want to find a home where I won’t be picked on. I stay away from the dog in the house, but do not seem to be totally against them.
Photo: Lucky Tales RescueSheeba
Age: Adult / Breed: Australian Cattle Dog / Blue Heeler / Sex: Female / Rescue: Stray Animal Adoption Program
Sheeba is a stunning smaller gal at about 30 lbs, and you would never be able to guess her age. She is active, smart, and playful, very sweet and loves to be showered with all the attention her people like the queen she is! She has been trained on all of the basic commands including place, sit, down, paw, look at me, and stay. Sheeba is a herding dog and does have traits typical of that breed. She also tends to be picky with her dog and cat friends, so she would be adopted out as an only pet. Sheeba does not care for crates/kennels unless it’s on her own terms, and does not like to be forced into them or have the doors closed, but she is house trained and not destructive, so she can be out uncrated as an only pet
Photo: Stray Animal Adoption ProgramTraffic Cone
Age: 5 Months Old / Breed: Domestic Short Hair / Sex: Male / Rescue: Louies Legacy Animal Rescue
Traffic Cone is a 5 month old domestic short haired kitten! This hilarious boy is full of life, loving to run and play with the other cats in the home. He has even made friends with the foster puppies, but is working on his confidence with the bigger pups in the home. Traffic Cone came into rescue with a big neck wound which he has since recovered from and is ready to go off to his forever home! He loves to receive attention and lots of pets!
Photo: Louies Legacy Animal RescueYin
Age: Kitten / Breed: Tuxedo / American Shorthair / Sex: Female / Rescue: Lucky Tales Rescue
Meet Yin. Yin is a female 5 month old Tuxedo kitten. Yin is bit aloof at times. However, she has been through a lot from a hurricane to a travel to KY so we think she will come around with time. Her sister is very social. Shes not aggressive and would do best in a house where she is one of a couple of cats at most. I do well with the small dog in my foster home.
Photo: Lucky Tales RescueButterscotch
Age: 4 Years Old / Breed: Beagle / Sex: Female / Rescue: Sweet Dream House Rescue
This yummy girl is BUTTERSCOTCH BEAGLE, a lovely low-key 4 year old tri-color girl with gorgeous velvety ears. She’s a go-with-the-flow kind of beagle, good with dogs of all sizes but fine as an only dog as well. Butterscotch Beagle looks like she’s been sneaking too many candies from Granny’s purse because she’s carrying around a few extra pounds. She’s currently 35 lbs., but she’s working on losing a few. Butterscotch Beagle needs a furever home with a fenced yard to keep her from following her beagle nose into trouble. That’s probably why this sweet girl ended up in a rural shelter after being found as a stray.
