Mustang Sally Age: 2 Months Old / Breed: Catahoula Leopard Dog & Labrador Retriever Mix / Sex: Female / Rescue: Louie’s Legacy Animal Rescue “Mustang Sally is a curious, independent girl. She loves attention and is always up for some quality time with her person, but she’s happy to explore the yard and romp in the grass with her siblings, too. She loves to wrestle and tends to be a little more gentle than some of her brothers when they play. If anyone starts to get too wild and rough, she’ll let them know they need to take it down a notch.” Photo: Louie’s Legacy Animal Rescue
Carma Age: 1 Year Old / Breed: Boxer / Sex: Female / Rescue: Little Hills of Kentucky Animal Rescue, Inc. “Hi I am Carma. I am a sweet silly girl. I am a 1 year and 38 lbs but I need to gain more weight. I am a full blooded Boxer. I do not know any strangers and love people of all sizes! I love toys especially the squeaky ones. I love to run and play with my foster sister and brothers. I will require a high fence done I am pretty agile! Oh yeah I have lots of energy and a very wiggly butt. I am crate and potty trained.” Photo: Little Hills of Kentucky Animal Rescue, Inc.
Arthur Age: 4 Months Old / Breed: Domestic Short Hair / Sex: Male / Rescue: Lucky Tales Rescue, Inc “Hey there y’all! We’re new around these parts, just came up from the South to get away from an awful storm. We’re sure thankful to be in Kentucky and away from that mess. We’re 4-month-old kittens who love to play, eat, snuggle, sleep, and then repeat. I’m Arthur. We’re good with other animals and since we’re still so young, we should be fine around kids, too. We’re already litter box trained, too! In case you aren’t aware, we cats do much better in pairs, so if you’re looking to add one of us to your house, maybe consider adopting two (or three!) of us.” Photo: Lucky Tales Rescue, Inc
Bud Age: 10 Months Old / Breed: Australian Shepherd Mix / Sex: Male / Rescue: Louie’s Legacy Animal Rescue “Meet Bud! Bud is a 10 month old Australian Shepherd mix that weighs about 40 pounds. He is house trained and let’s you know every time he needs to go out. He struggles with some anxiety in the crate but is eventually able to calm down. He needs someone dedicated to showing him that the crate isn’t so scary. Bud is fostered with two other dogs and he does great with them. Bud is the perfect dog for cuddling on the couch or going for a stroll. Bud isn’t always sure about things going on around him and he will take some time to warm up to you. Once he does, he will give you a bunch of kisses and sit right on your lap.” Photo: Louie’s Legacy Animal Rescue
Chance Age: 4 Years / Breed: Domestic Short Hair / Sex: Male / Rescue: Save the Animals Foundation ““If you’re all alone / When the pretty birds have flown / Honey I’m still free / Take a chance on me!” Abba You couldn’t do better for companionship than this absolutely incredible cat! Perpetually cheerful, Chance is always happy to greet his volunteer friends at the door to his room, to sit in a lap when someone sits on the floor, and to look up with absolute love in his eyes. This bright-eyed tuxedo is fine with other cats with slow introductions, although he initially makes sure newbies know that it is he who rules the room.” Photo: Save the Animals Foundation
Sugar Mama Age: 6 Years / Breed: Pit Bull Terrier/ Sex: Female / Rescue: Stray Animal Adoption Program “When she holds her head high, her eyes sparkle and you really see her personality shine Sugar Mama is sooo easy to get along with! She’s 6 years old and a large dog, but so gentle and polite. She doesn’t pull on her leash and is very quiet (except snoring!). Her leash-walk style is way low on the register and measures as “mosey” at best. She’ll pick up the pace if she really needs to. What is she great at? Walks, sleeping in her crate, sharing space with other dogs, ignoring loud sounds, chewing on toys or not chewing on toys, peeing outside, accepting all cuddles, scratches, and squishes, and KISSES. She is sooo easy and will make someone the sweetest companion!” Photo:Stray Animal Adoption Program
Auggie Age: 1 Year/ Breed: Domestic Short Hair / Sex: Male/ Rescue: Save The Animals Foundation “Silly, active, outgoing and affectionate are all character traits of Auggie the awesome. This big, happy-go-lucky orange and white dude alternates between snuggling upside down in your arms like a baby and wriggling impatiently out of your grasp to run and play like a nut. Auggie is also smart and a little mischievous, so watch out! He is easy going with everyone and would be the perfect cat for a lively household. Auggie arrived at STAF in the month of August (hence his name) with a note telling us that he had been found wandering in a park in Ludlow, Kentucky. His rescuers suspected he had been dumped there. Auggie’s friendly demeanor was in evidence immediately, certainly suggesting that he had been someone’s pet, although he had not been neutered or microchipped. Smiles, laughter and love will abound for the lucky family that gives this young guy a home.” Photo: Save The Animals Foundation
Ethel Age: 1 Year/ Breed:Chihuahua & Terrier Mix / Sex: Female / Rescue: Stray Animal Adoption Program “Ethel is a 1 year old terrier mix who is super sweet & loving! She is good with dogs, kids, & cats. Ethel is house and crate trained. She can be a little shy at first but opens up quickly once you offer her attention. She is a polite girl who learns very quickly! Ethel is a leggy girl & is smaller than she looks in pictures, weighing in at ~13 lbs.” Photo: Stray Animal Adoption Program
Falkor Age: Adult / Breed: Great Pyrenees / Sex: Male / Rescue: Louie’s Legacy Animal Rescue “This extra large boy, in many ways, is a true example of his breed, the Great Pyrenees. He is one year old and currently weighs 120lbs. Falkor loves to patrol his property, make sure his flock (or family) is all accounted for, alert of any possible threats but above all, this guy loves to play. He may be the biggest dog you have ever seen, but he is VERY much still a puppy. It is recommended that he goes to a family that has experience with large working dogs and any children be preferably older. He is eager for a job and responds well to structure. Falkor is crate trained, house broken and knows basic commands.” Photo: Louie’s Legacy Animal Rescue
Gordo Age: About 2 Years Old / Breed: Labrador Retriever / Sex: Male / Rescue: Stray Animal Adoption Program “Introducing: Gordo! He’s a loving 1-2 year old shepherd/lab(?) mix weighing in at 55lbs. Loves to play with other dogs and LOVES attention/snuggles from people.Does well in the crate, seems to be housebroken (no accidents yet ), is still working on his jumping manners, but seems to be taking correction well. If you’re looking for a pup to smother you with kisses and cuddles, Gordo would be oh so grateful to join your family!” Photo: Stray Animal Adoption Program
Hannah Age: 3 Years Old / Breed: Domestic Short Hair / Sex: Female / Rescue: Save the Animals Foundation “The charming Hannah has a pleasingly soft, dark beige coat and loving personality. Social since she arrived at the shelter, she is becoming more attentive each day and now gives nose kisses and purrs when held. When in the proper frame of mind, she also loves to play energetically, batting her toys all around. Hannah was brought to STAF from an Estill County, Kentucky, kill shelter with which we often partner, where she was exhibiting signs of stress. She also tested positive for FIV, the feline immunodeficiency virus, which is not a problem if managed appropriately. Hannah had a few hurdles to overcome, but our pretty girl is healthy and has abundant love to share with those who open their arms to this gentle kitty.” Photo: Save the Animals Foundation
Jace Age: 6 Years Old / Breed: Boxer/Terrier Mix / Sex: Male / Rescue: Save Our Shelter Dogs “Jace is a very active 6 year old boy. He needs an active family who can wear him out. He definitely does better in an environment with an owner who has rules and makes him follow them. He is a very sweet boy and loves his people. He does ok with low key dogs, but I would recommend a house without young children as he can be pretty rambunctious and may knock little kids down.” Photo: Save Our Shelter Dogs
Jolene Age: About 2 Years Old / Breed: German Shepherd/Beagle Mix / Sex: Female / Rescue: Furgotten Dog Rescue, Inc “Jolene, Jolene, Jolene Joleeennnee…I’m begging of you please give me a home. I am a happy-go-lucky country gal who is finally living the life that I never knew I deserved.I am guessed to be a 1-2-year-old Shepherd/Beagle mix. Before rescue, I spent my entire life tied to a dog house, but my days of living in filth and neglect are over! n my foster home, I love soaking up all the love and affection I can get! I get so excited to get pets that I could use some work on my jumping. I am happy to sleep on a comfy dog bed (it sure beats a straw doghouse) and love going for walks.” Photo:Furgotten Dog Rescue, Inc
Lady Age: About 9 Months Old / Breed: Domestic Short Hair/Tabby Mix / Sex: Female / Rescue: Purrfect Friends “Lady was found with her brother, (Tramp) abandoned in the yard of the empty house their family had moved out of . . . waiting . . . hoping they’d come back for them. Lady is a gorgeous, petite calico – she’s inquisitive & talkative. Both kitties are around 8-9 months old; were very friendly – meowing and calling to passers-by and then so desperate to get back inside to the house & family that they’d known . . . they’re looking for a wonderful new home (hopefully together) where they’ll never be abandoned again . . .” Photo: Purrfect Friends
Mister Kangaroo Age: 6 Years Old / Breed: Chihuahua / Sex: Male / Rescue: Stray Animal Adoption Program “Mister Kangaroo (affectionately called MK) just got to his foster home today & this tiny guy is SO SWEET. He just wants to play & give kisses. MK is a 6 year old energetic chi mix who weighs in at 4.9 lbs. He is said to be good with dogs, hasn’t acknowledged the cats, & was good with the 5 year old he met! He is on 2 week course of meds for some itchy skin from seasonal allergies & then will be available for adoption. We will update as we get to know him.” Photo: Stray Animal Adoption Program
Panache Age: Senior / Breed: Domestic Long Hair / Sex: Female / Rescue: Stray Animal Adoption Program “Panache is a beautiful, quiet, low energy senior cat who came to Saap after her owner passed away. She likes gentle petting and can food with gravy. She would be happiest in a quiet home as an only pet or with another senior cat that would give her space. She is litter box trained and enjoys looking out a sunny window. She does require brushing to keep her fur mat free but is sweet and low key!” Photo: Stray Animal Adoption Program
Perseus Age: Adult / Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Sex: Female / Rescue: Stray Animal Adoption Program “Perseus (knows the name Pearl) came to SAAP after her owner sadly passed away. She is an absolutely beautiful lady who has been fantastic with all humans, big and small, and loves to play with toys. She is so fun to watch when she does her zoomies, loves her rope toys, and is excellent with kids – Perseus is happy to keep your little ones safe and snuggly in their beds at night with nighttime snuggles. Perseus loves soft beds, chin scratches, and cuddling. Because she was previously attacked by another dog, she is hesitant to trust other dogs, and has been a little choosy with new dog and cat friends. Perseus would be adopted out to a house with no other pets where she can get her family’s undivided attention and loves. Perseus is extremely well behaved and house and crate trained (crate not really necessary), so no additional training will be needed!” Photo: Stray Animal Adoption Program
Pita Age: 2 Years Old / Breed: Domestic Short Hair / Sex: Female / Rescue: Stray Animal Adoption Program “Hi Please welcome Pita!! She is an affectionate young adult beautiful cat that is still settling in, in her foster home. Pita is available for adoption now! She is 2 years old and Calicio. She loves humans and can make herself at home pretty quick. Pita is a good eater and has good litter box habits. She has a quiet meow and loves to play with toys.Pita does not seem to be a fan of the attention of other cats. She would be her best self as the only cat in her furever home. She has been introduced to a dog and reacted well.” Photo: Stray Animal Adoption Program
Stanley Age: 2 Years Old / Breed: Mixed / Sex: Male / Rescue: Cincinnati Animal CARE “This buckskin beauty is Stanley. He is a medium sized dog of 45 lbs, who came in as a stray. Be prepared for teaching him the basic’s of what he needs to know. He was a bit shy when he first came in, but now is looking for attention, dedication and an owner willing to take a diamond in the rough and make him a gem!” Photo: Cincinnati Animal CARE
Reno Age: 6 Months Old / Breed: Domestic Short Hair / Sex: Female / Rescue: Save the Animals Foundation “Reno has beaten the odds! She is one a litter with three orange females, a very special occurrence. Her “sunshine city” sisters are Vegas and Miami; she also has a little brother, Orlando. A beautiful striped tabby, the shy Reno is still learning to trust us and requires a very peaceful home with someone dedicated to helping build her confidence. She is a gentle soul who likes toys but is still inclined to hang back and watch the action. We bet that you will fall in love with this timid little girl, rescued with her litter-mates from a treacherous road. Will you take a gamble on Reno today?” Photo: Save the Animals Foundation
Sir Scruffy of Stewart Age: Adult / Breed: Domestic Medium Hair / Sex: Male / Rescue: OAR “We are pretty sure that Sir Scruffy of Stewart has descended from royalty. He’s the perfectly mannered gentleman. He asks for nothing more than a sunny spot to quietly nap and a regular meal. You see, Sir Scruffy was found outside at a colony of cats that are more comfortable outside, but he was pretty scared to be with the other cats. He would wait at dinner time until he could sneak in at the end and get the few bites left. Once the caretaker pulled Scruffy in to get him medical care, it was clear that he was not used to life on the outside and wasn’t handling things well. He was thin and not keeping himself clean and cared for. Flash forward a few weeks in a foster home and Sir Scruffy has blossomed with regular meals meant just for him! He’s put on some weight and loves nothing more than head scratches when he’s sleeping in a sunbeam. This magestic fellow could grace your home and would be forever your best friend if so!..” Photo: OAR
Tramp Age: About 9 Months Old / Breed: Domestic Short Hair/Tabby Mix / Sex: Male / Rescue: Purrfect Friends “Tramp was found with his sister, (Lady) abandoned in the yard of the empty house their family had moved out of . . . waiting . . . hoping they’d come back for them. Tramp seems to be very calm and easy-going, curious about things, and interested in getting to know you.
Twinkie Age: 7 Months Old / Breed: Domestic Short Hair / Sex: Male / Rescue: Cat Adoption Team “Twinkie Is quite curious he loves to observe and figure things out while getting used to his new world. He loves the cat tunnel and also hangs out in one of the cat trees. He likes to play with adult kitties. We think he would do well with other cats. Twinkie only has 1 eye but that does not slow him down.” Photo: Cat Adoption Team
Whopper Age: Adult / Breed: Domestic Short Hair / Sex: Male / Rescue: OAR “Whopper is a handsome tuxedo with a really sweet and gentle personality. He is definitely shy at first, but responds really well if you sit with him and talk to him quietly. To let you in on a little secret – he LOVES Temptations treats and Churus, so those will go a long way in earning his trust and affection. He’s not much of a talker, but he does make super sweet little chirpy sounds to show his affection, in addition to booping your hand to let you know he’s ready for all the pets and scratches. As far as toys go, this guy has a whopper of a good time playing with string/wand toys and the Flutterbug toy.” Photo: OAR
