It’s the cutest time of year at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden! Throughout the month of May, the zoo will be celebrating its littlest residents with Zoo Babies.

This year’s zoo babies include species big and small, from baby sloths to manatees, foxes, cheetahs and penguins. The zoo is also celebrating babies who are on the way.

“We made two big pregnancy announcements last week,” Cincinnati Zoo director Thane Maynard said in a press release. “Gladys, a beloved member of our family gorilla group, is expected to give birth in early fall, and our brand-new Asian small-clawed otters may deliver pups as soon as late May!”

Babies visitors can see include Kal the bat-eared fox; cheetah cubs Zola, Lulu and Kiara; manatees Orchid, Vora and Lilypad; Daisy the bonobo; lesser kudu Maple; red fox Scamper; Morty the hognose snake; Frunobulax the Komodo dragon; white-cheeked gibbon Kip; Mokonzi the okapi; Juno the sloth; famous hippo Fritz; Violet the porcupine and skunks, penguin chicks, reptiles and insects.

Some of the babies are ambassador animals, so they won’t be visible on a set schedule, but you may see them in random encounters around the zoo. Visitors can also take part in a fun, all-ages scavenger hunt where you can find special signs at four different Zoo Babies exhibits, discover the secret word and be entered to win prizes.
