ArtWorks is resuming guided tours of its Over-the-Rhine and Pendleton murals after pressing pause on the program due to COVID-19.
“We want residents and visitors to see and learn about the public art created through our program by wonderful artists and youth apprentices, but we want it done safely.” said Liz Neidich, ArtWorks’ mural tour coordinator, in a press release. “There are new additions to our tour routes and we’re proud to introduce them to the community.”
Tours are resuming with safety protocols in place, including limiting groups to 10 or less. Those taking the tour must wear a face mask and they can’t be showing signs of illness.
Tour itineraries include the Heart of Pendleton and Spirit of OTR, which last around 90 minutes and include 11 murals and public art installations. Tours are currently only offered on Saturdays and cost $20 per person.
The Heart of Pendleton tour is about 1 mile long and includes “New Lines Phase II: Bolivar Alley,” “Democracy” and “Dreaming Blues.” The Spirit of OTR tour is also about 1 mile long and includes the murals “Faces of Homelessness,” “The Golden Muse” and “The Cincinnati Strongman: Henry Holtgrewe.”
Tours begin and end at the ArtWorks Office at 20 E. Central Parkway, Downtown. Tickets are available online.
Self-guided tours are still available, as are private tours and virtual tours. Mural bus tours have been suspended.
