Cincinnati’s beloved amusement park Coney Island is kicking off the summer season with some new additions to its line-up of attractions.
The over-a-century-old park already is home to the nation’s largest recirculating pool, water slides, Cannonball Cove, Typhoon Tower Splashpark and paddle boats, but 2021 welcomes some new thrills to the mix, like the recently announced Challenge Zone, a 150-foot floating obstacle course and some interactive fun in the park’s new Action Alley.
The Challenge Zone is slated to be “the largest Aquaglide pool obstacle course in the United States,” a release from Coney Island says, and will feature obstacles including the Freefall Extreme, a 10-foot ladder climbing wall attached to a slide; King of the Mountain, a nearly 7-foot climbing wall/slide; the Monkey Dome, an over 10-foot tall dome with multiple routes; the I-Beam, a 10-foot long balance beam; and several other challenging hurdles.
Action Alley will boast activities such as Connect 4 Basketball, Jump Pad, a Gaga Pit, foam parties and plenty of arts and crafts.
The season begins Memorial Day weekend on May 29. Season passes as well as daily tickets are available for purchase online.
