Looking for a novel way to cool off after a summer run? Fifty West Brewing Company’s Pool Run 5K has a splashy idea.
The fun run, which takes place through Over-the-Rhine, literally ends at Ziegler Park Pool, where attendees are invited to cross the finish line by jumping fully clothed into the water.
“The idea came to me as I hopped in the shower following an intense summertime run. As soon as the cold water hit the top of my head all I could think of was how fun and invigorating it would feel to finish a race directly into a pool,” Max Fram, Fifty West’s vice president, said in a release.
This is the brewery’s third Pool Run.
Fifty West’s Pool Run takes place 6-10 p.m. Aug. 13. Runners can check in and leave behind any items they don’t want to get wet before they take off for the 3.2-mile jaunt. A photographer will be stationed at the finish line to capture every splash.
A pool party will follow, with Fifty West beer and provided pizza.
Registration costs $40 and is available at fiftywestbrew.com. The first 100 people to sign up get a free Fleet Feet brand beach towel.
