Cincinnati’s National Underground Railroad Freedom Center has been nominated as one of the best history museums in the nation.

The Freedom Center is one of 20 finalists in line for USA Today’s 10Best list of the “10 Best History Museums” in the country. The finalists for this people’s choice award are picked by “a panel of experts and editors,” per a release from the Freedom Center, and the public votes to determine the winners.

This is the second year in a row this Cincinnati museum has been nominated for this award. They finished second in 2021.

“We are honored to be recognized alongside so many wonderful organizations as one of the top history museums in the nation,” said president and COO of the Freedom Center, Woodrow Keown, Jr. in a release “This nomination is further proof that the enduring legacy of freedom and freedom’s heroes is not only relevant, but critical to our shared cultural heritage. We hope our community and Freedom Center supporters around the globe will turn out online to vote us the best history museum in the country.”
