American Legacy Tours is partnering with ArtsWave, one of Cincinnati’s biggest arts organizations, to launch a brand new experience that will take you behind the scenes of the city’s arts community.

The new tour, “Behind the Curtain: Inside Cincy’s Arts,” launches Thanksgiving weekend. The two-hour tour will showcase what makes Cincinnati’s arts scene so vibrant, from our full-time symphony to the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company and Children’s Theatre.

“We’re so glad to do this. Our arts are an integral part of our region’s fabric, and now we’re telling that part of the region’s story,” American Legacy Tours COO Brad Hill said in a press release.

The tour features 12 stops, including four or five stops visitors will get to enter. Tours vary in their composition of stops depending on artistic production schedules and may include stops on sets, stages, stage manager’s perches, within art galleries, educational facilities and other places not typically seen by audiences, say organizers.

Visitors will get to learn more about:

  • Know Theatre Cincinnati
  • Art Academy of Cincinnati
  • The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati
  • Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati
  • Cincinnati Shakespeare Company
  • Friends of Music Hall
  • Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra
  • Cincinnati Pops Orchestra
  • Cincinnati Opera
  • May Festival

“ArtsWave is excited to be able to offer ‘behind the scenes’ experiences in some of Over-the-Rhine’s premier arts venues,” ArtsWave president and CEO Alecia Kintner said in the release. “This is one of Cincinnati’s original ‘arts districts’ — adding economic vibrancy to the neighborhood, providing exceptional entertainment and anchoring arts education. It’s time the stories are connected and shared.”

Tours take place every Saturday morning and are $39 per person. You can book a tour here.

A portion of the ticket price and 100% of all tour donations support over 150 arts organizations, projects and artists through ArtsWave.
