A new mural honoring the legacy of Cincinnati Reds player Pete Rose has been unveiled, just in time for BLINK.

Following Rose’s death on Sept. 30, the Reds and BLINK co-founder AGAR teamed up to create a mural memorializing The Hit King. The mural, which can be found on a building at the northwest corner of Elm and Magnolia streets, features Charlie Hustle’s iconic “headfirst slide.” The Reds say the mural celebrates Rose’s connection to Cincinnati and his hometown team.

The Reds and AGAR partnered with local artists, including Michael Thompson, the Dye Brothers, Chase Melendez, Luke Lehenbaurer, Sonny Day and Cameron Haberthier. The mural artwork was done by Doug Bunker and Natasha Croft.

Also during BLINK, the statues of Pete Rose, Johnny Bench, Joe Morgan and Tony Perez at Great American Ball Park will be illuminated as part of the event’s light installations. The Plant Trolley, a local plantscaping company, designed the lighting.

BLINK returns to Cincinnati this week Thursday-Sunday, Oct. 17-20. Learn more here.
