The Cincinnati Open returns to Mason this August, but before the first serve, a new docuseries will offer fans a behind-the-scenes look at the premier tennis event.
Produced by The 1831 Media Network in partnership with Beemok Sports & Entertainment, Cincinnati’s Open is a four-part docuseries offering an all-access look at the tournament’s legacy, transformation and the elite competition. Viewers can expect never-before-seen moments, emotional stories and exclusive interviews with tournament stakeholders as well as some of tennis’ top athletes.
“The Cincinnati Open has always been powered by the passion of this city and its fans,” Bob Moran, president of Beemok Sports & Entertainment, said in a press release. “This docuseries gives people a behind-the-scenes view of everything that makes this event special — from the history and emotion to the vision and effort behind its next great chapter.”
The episodes will air at 6 p.m. on Sundays, starting Aug. 3, on FOX19 and Rock Entertainment Sports Group regionally. They will also stream nationally next-day on YouTube. Here’s a brief overview of Cincinnati’s Open episodes, and you can watch the trailer below:
Episode 1 (Aug. 3): Learn about the history of the tournament and its connection to Cincinnati, plus how local efforts helped keep the Cincinnati Open in the Queen City after the risk of relocation.
Episode 2 (Aug. 10): Get a look at the massive investments that helped renovate the tournament grounds at the Lindner Family Tennis Center and provided millions of dollars in upgrades to improve fan and player experience. The episode will feature the architectural vision, construction progress and reactions from tennis pros.
Episode 3 (Aug. 17): As the tournament in real life wraps up, viewers can get a recap of Week 1, including early-round upsets, breakout performances and raw moments of preparation.
Episode 4 (Aug. 24): The final episode will offer a cinematic finale of the tournament’s end, with a focus on the unforgettable matches, emotional triumphs and the electric atmosphere that makes the Cincinnati Open special.
