French author Jules Verne didn’t set out to create a laugh-riot when he wrote Around the World in 80 Days, but his 1873 novel has been used as a comic vehicle for years, both as films and stage productions. I think it’s reached its pinnacle in Mark Brown’s script, currently onstage at the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, with a production in the Shelterhouse Theater that concludes the 2007-08 season.
