Opening Day for the Cincinnati Reds was fun and all… but when do the kids get their turn at having fun?
Kids Opening Day kicked off at 11:15 a.m. on March 29, ahead of the Reds’ matchup against the San Francisco Giants. Mascots took over the red carpet, entertaining fans until the players arrived at noon. From baseballs and hats to jerseys and shirts, fans had the chance to get their favorite Reds player’s autograph before Cincinnati secured a victory over San Francisco on Saturday.
The Cincinnati Reds defeated the San Francisco Giants 3-2 on Saturday. They began the series with a tough loss thanks to Wilmer Flores and his three-run home run in the top of the ninth that finished the game off with a 6-4 comeback win over the Reds. The Reds fought back, winning the second game of the series and were hopeful for a second win on Sunday.
