[PHOTOS] Inside the University of Cincinnati's Redemption Win Against BYU

The University of Cincinnati’s men’s basketball team took on BYU for the second time within 14 days. All season coaches of these Big 12 basketball teams have been talking about how difficult the division is on these teams, especially when traveling — but this redemption match-up really put it into perspective.

The Bearcats faced the Cougars for the first time this season on Jan. 25, losing by a gutting 28 points. They faced them for the second time this past Saturday, Feb. 8, and won by 18 points and had a field goal percentage of nearly 59%. When talking about the match-up and coming back from a tough loss on the road, Jizzle James said: “We were just glad we got another chance at them and just got to even it out, one-on-one.”

Cincinnati head coach Wes Miller had some great things to say about his team after their win on Saturday. “I thought our guys played really well tonight. They looked confident, and they were aggressive,” Miller said in a press release. This confidence was shown throughout the game, with the Bearcats having 4 steals and 32 rebounds. James had an incredible game with a total of 27 minutes of playing time and 24 points. Day Day Thomas was close behind with 26 total minutes of playing time and 15 points. And, let’s not forget about the player who had the Bearcat bench electric, Josh Reed. Reed had what Miller called “the best game of his career,” with a two-handed dunk that forced a BYU timeout to try to slow momentum.
