Reds Lose to Kansas City Royals 5-2,  June 3

The Reds lost to the Kansas City Royals 5-2 Wednesday night in the final game of their home stand.

Chase Burns, among the best pitchers in MLB this season, has a rough first inning, allowing a walk followed by a home run. However, he finished the night giving up just 2 runs over 6 innings with 9 strikeouts. Tony Santillan got the loss, allowing 3 runs in the ninth inning. One highlight was Zach McCambley making his major debut and recording his first strikeout.

Blake Dunn hit a home run in the fifth inning with Matt McLain on base for the only offensive highlight of the night for the Reds. The Reds go on the road to play the St Louis Cardinals and the San Diego Padres and will be back in town to play the Arizona Diamondbacks June 12.
