Pongo Age: 4 Months Old / Breed: Boxer Terrier Mix / Sex: Male / Rescue: Louie’s Legacy ”Pongo is a 4 month old Boxer/Terrier mix. He loves to be near his people! He’s very social, smart and easily trainable. He sits on command, knows to come when called, and makes strides with leash training. Pongo is very playful, but does have a tendency to jump in excitement and is working on his puppy nipping. He’s very good about letting you know when he needs to go out to potty, and is crated when not supervised. Typical to puppy nature, he does like to chew and will need plenty of toys to keep him busy. Echo Age: 2 Years Old / Breed: Chihuahua Mix / Sex: Female / Rescue: SAAP ”Meet Echo, a tiny 2 year old chi mix that is ready for her furever. Echo is good with other dogs but will sometimes be vocal around them. She doesn’t really do anything though. Echo is good in her crate and we are working on potty habits. Echo came to SAAP when a partner shelter reaches out for help because of a hoarding situation. Of the forty-seven taken from the home, about twenty two came to SAAP. Rusty loves to go for walks or run and bark at squirrels in the yard. He is an energetic guy that would love another dog to play with. Bell Age: 3 Years Old / Breed: Chihuahua / Sex: Female / Rescue: Louie’s Legacy ”My name is Bell and I’m a 3-year-old, 13 lb chihuahua. I am house-trained and have enjoyed living in an apartment environment, but would love a house too. I LOVE playing with all of my toys: my favorite games are tug-of-war and fetch – I always bring the toy back to keep the game going. I don’t mind that my foster mom works from home – I’m happy to play with my toys by myself or find a warm, cozy spot to snooze. Luckily, I haven’t had to spend too much time alone at my foster home so far, but I still behave my best when I do. I don’t need very long walks every day, but I do enjoy a slow, sniffing-everything stroll. I’ve got a lot of love to give and all I want is a safe home with faces to kiss and people to play with. My foster mom thinks that I’m a great companion – I love to follow her around and cuddle up on the couch every night. Simon Age: 1 Years Old / Breed: Basset Hound / Sex: Male / Rescue: Louie’s Legacy ”Want a dog that will make heads turn? Meet Simon! Simon is a one year old Basset Hound mix and weighs around 30 lbs. Don’t let his small size fool you because this guy is energetic, driven, independent and curious of new surroundings. Simon makes a great family dog and loves to play with other dogs, cats and kids. He is very outgoing, LOVES people and likes to make new friends at the dog park. He loves going on hikes, likes to swim and can be a good outdoor buddy. This dog is full of energy and would do well in a family who can address his play/exercise needs. Because he is so playful, he can come across a little intense to shy cats/dogs, but he responds well to the boundaries of confident cats/dogs. Even though cute, Simon’s history has not been that great. His previous family had to move and left him in the house to fend for himself. This has caused Simon to pick up a couple of bad habits. He has some food guarding problems with other dogs/cats but is getting better in his foster home. It will be best that he be fed separately if other animals are in the home. Now don’t let that fool you, I still enjoy the finer things in life and I am very friendly towards people. I just have a lot of energy, so having a huge yard is a must for me. I have hip dysplasia, so you’ll notice I walk a little funny, but let me tell you it doesn’t keep me down one bit! I still love chasing toys, especially tennis balls. Because my hips can sometimes be painful (I’ll need supplements for the rest of my life) I should be the only animal in the home. Sometimes if I think a dog is going to jump on me, I try and act tough to keep them away. I can also get a bit mouthy (it’s all play, I just don’t understand that I’m a big guy) and because of this I need to go to a home with older children (13+).
