Margarita Madness 2025

It’s hard to think of too many better ways to spend your early Friday evening than standing outside sipping margaritas.

That’s exactly what you’ll find at Margarita Madness this Friday, where CityBeat will take over the Purple People Bridge to serve you margs from your favorite bars and restaurants in the Greater Cincinnati area in a competition to determine the city’s best margarita.

Admission gets you ten (TEN!) drink tickets to try out margaritas from all over the city, including drinks from Homemaker’s Bar, Somerset, Galaxie, Cantina, El Barril, Bakersfield, Cobblestone OTR, Dead Low Brewing, Agave & Rye, Bru Burger Bar, Livery Montgomery, Beeline on the Levee and more. El Jefe Cubanos and Kabobske will be on site serving food, too.

Once you’ve had your fill of tequila’s favorite cocktail, enjoy live music from White Lighter and Floyd and the Walkmen, plus a special DJ set from local nightlife icon DJ Boywife to keep the party going.

But that’s not all you’ll do at the event — this is a competition, after all. Cat Middendorf, who was voted the city’s best bartender by CityBeat readers, will judge each margarita alongside DJ Boywife and CityBeat arts and culture reporter Kane Mitten. But event attendees have the most important role: at the end of the night, the People’s Choice award will be presented to the crowd’s favorite drink.

The Bar Cincy will also be on the bridge serving additional drinks available for purchase, and Modern Water will be there with a spot to cool off and recharge between margarita tastings.
