UPDATE: Because of the popularity of the event, the cemetery has to cap attendance at 2,500. According to a Facebook post, “Due to the high level of interest for this event, and our passion for keeping the space clean and safe, we will have to cap admission to 2,500 individuals. In order to do this, we have just published a link to obtain FREE TICKETS on EventBrite. You can also find that link here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/cinema-in-the-cemetery-hocus-p…. You will not be able to enter the event without either a printed ticket or showing us a ticket on your smart phone. Looking forward to seeing you there!”

Covington’s Historic Linden Grove Cemetery & Arboretum is getting in the spooky spirit this fall with a special movie screening of the Halloween cult classic, Hocus Pocus.

Cinema in the Cemetery will be held from 6-10:30 p.m. on Oct. 4. Prior to the movie — which starts at 7:30 p.m. — guests are invited on a family-friendly tour of the cemetery led by the Kenton County Public Library. Tours will take off at 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Starring Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, Thora Birch and Cincinnati’s own Sarah Jessica Parker, this free film screening invites guests to bring chairs and picnic blankets to the cemetery’s green space. The event is family-friendly, but please leave your pets at home.

There will be food and drink available from vendors, but guests are welcome to bring their own snacks.

6-10:30 p.m. Oct. 4. Free. Historic Linden Grove Cemetery & Arboretum, 401 W. 13th St., Covington.
