Wakanda forever! Nearly six months after its initial release, Marvel’s Black Panther is still breaking records. It’s the third film to earn over $700 million in the U.S. theater market.
And the film is well-deserving. It’s the first in the Marvel franchise to feature a predominantly black cast, including Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong’o and Michael B. Jordan. Set in fictional Wakanda (located in sub-Saharan Africa) — depicted with lush forests, clear waterfalls, jagged rocks and incredible technology — T’Challa (Boseman) returns home after the death of his father only for an enemy to reappear that puts Wakanda in danger of changing forever.
