Westwood Second Saturdays, a monthly celebration of the artists, community and businesses that make up the neighborhood, returns on Sept. 12 from noon to 6 p.m. Like last month, the recurring event is shifting their operations to offer a more socially distant and safe way for folks to visit and participate in the fun with “CURBED.”

Second Saturday CURBED invites artists, vendors and entertainers to “set up shop” in various sidewalks, driveways, front yards and parking areas throughout the historic business district for a free event.

“As a result of COVID-19, Westwood Second Saturdays has had to adapt from the successful street festival model of the last four years in order to keep attendees and artists safe,” a press release from Westwood Second Saturday reads.

The shift from their usual street-fair-style event to the more simplified community art walk was successful during their August edition, and the organizers look forward to supporting their community again in September.

Eventgoers can look forward to browsing art by local creators, participating in outdoor yoga from The Barre Code, listening to the Children’s Story Hour, enjoying performances by local musicians and a DJ, as well stopping by local restaurants and bars for food and drink specials.

According to the release, a digital map and printed maps will be available for attendees, which highlight the various locations and schedule of the events throughout the “District Walk” as well as the “Community Ride” routes.
