Newberry Bros. Coffee & Prohibition Bourbon Bar in Newport is hosting an online fundraiser for Cincinnati’s Stray Animal Adoption Program, also known colloquially as SAAP.
The bar is raffling off rare bourbons — and a cab sav — with 100% of the proceeds going to the nonprofit, an all-volunteer organization which “exists to rescue, protect, and provide care for at risk pets.”
This will be the fifth and final raffle of August and it is valued at $2,500. The prize is one bottle each of a Yamazaki 12-year single malt Japanese whisky, Blanton’s Original Single Barrel Bourbon and an Old Rip Van Winkle 10-year bourbon, plus a Brand 2013 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
Newberry Bros. says this wine is “a rare find” — “Made by Winemaker Philippe Melka. Limited production. Made from 92% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Cabernet Franc. Only 394 cases. Growers and vintners have proclaimed the 2013 vintage “close to perfect.” Robert Parker 98 Points.”
To enter the raffle, visit eventbrite.com. One $10 donation to SAAP = 1 raffle ticket; a $50 donation = 8 raffle tickets; a $100 donation = 20 raffle tickets; a $200 donation = 50 raffle tickets.
You must be 21 or older to enter. The drawing will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30. Items must be picked up in person, with a photo ID, at a date and time to be determined.
