Winter. Generally cold. Possibly snowy. Gets dark at like 4 p.m. Unfortunately, unlike bears — who can hibernate up to seven months without eating, drinking or peeing — humans have to stay awake in January and February.
We have no adaptation to recycle our urine back into our bodies, plus eating and drinking is fun. What’s not fun is going outside in the ice and wind (unless you’re into winter sports?), so we’ve collected a few ideas to help keep you busy and warm inside while it sucks in the world beyond your window panes.
Inside our handy hibernation guide you’ll find a list of new, old and relatively long reading materials; binge-worthy TV shows currently streaming and on-demand; recipes for hot cocktails; contacts for food delivery services willing to drop burritos at your doorstep; and a feature on a local clothing company making cozy casual wear with a conscience.
So pull on your sweatpants, tune into Netflix, heat up some wine in the microwave and chill da fuq out. #thesnuggleisreal
