Quaintrelle Confections is a sweet fiend’s dream. The OTR brick-and-mortar opened after store owner Meggie Kraus’ success selling gourmet marshmallows at local farmers markets and online. The premise of the retail location is slightly different from her wholesale business: Its a smores bar that focuses heavily on the marshmallow portion of the smore. Kraus makes all her own marshmallows in house. Each small batch is made with simple ingredients: water, sugar, gelatin, some salt and natural flavoring.
The shop offers Kraus’ marshmallows by the bag and a bar where guests can order from a list of s’more options or build their own. In addition to s’mores, Quaintelle Confections offers changing special treats like cookie mallow sandwiches, s’more tacos or rice crispy treats. They also offer coffee and/or hot chocolate.
