Aglamesis Bro’s 3046 Madison Road, Oakley; 9899 Montgomery Road, Montgomery This classic 1900s ice cream parlor has been wooing foodie visitors from all around the country with its unblemished reputation for quality for generations. The location in Oakley has remained virtually unchanged since it opened in 1913 with its chic Tiffany lamps and a marble soda fountain, offering just the right amount of summertime nostalgia as you sit at the counter with a dish of ice cream or Italian ice (try the pink champagne flavor). A beloved Cincinnati ice cream parlor and chocolate shop is expanding north.

Aglamesis Bros’ says it will open its third retail location in the historic Main Street Business District in downtown Hamilton, saying with the opening of its new chocolate production facility on Central Avenue in downtown Cincinnati, it can better meet growing demand and consider new locations.

The new Aglamesis shop will be located in the Davis Building at 304 Main St., which is part of a historic district that has undergone significant revitalization in recent years. Aglamesis says that makes it the perfect match for its brand.

“I didn’t know what to expect when I went for my first site visit,” Randy Young, third-generation president of Aglamesis Bros’, said in a press release. “I was immediately struck by how similar the neighborhood revitalization looks to the recent development near our location in Oakley.”

The Hamilton Aglamesis location is expected to open in late summer or early fall.

“We are thrilled to welcome Aglamesis Bros’ to Hamilton,” Lauren Nelson, project manager with the City of Hamilton’s Economic Development Department, said in the release. “Their commitment to quality and tradition aligns perfectly with the revitalization taking place in the historic Main Street Business District. And as a beloved family-owned business, Aglamesis Bros’ will be a tremendous asset to our community.”

Young says Aglamesis’ goal is for the new shop to become an integral part of the Hamilton community.

“We will be actively engaging with the community in creating lasting relationships for many years to come. This location will follow in the Aglamesis Bros’ tradition where gourmet ice creams, fine chocolates and wonderful memories are made. We want Hamilton to live life sweetly,” he said.
