The economy’s gotten so bad, even chain restaurants have roommates these days. All jokes aside, Applebee’s and IHOP are opening a joint location at 3222 Geier Drive in Oakley later this month.

The dual-branded restaurant will feature all the menus and specials from both restaurants. So, y’know, if you ever wanted to sip on a Dollarita while eating stuffed French toast or whatever, now’s your time. The restaurant opens on Tuesday, Oct. 20.

To celebrate the grand opening, the restaurant will host a special ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Oakley community on Oct. 20 at 9:30 a.m. After the ceremony, the first 100 guests in line will receive a card that grants them free appetizers once a month for a year. The celebration will continue from 10 a.m. to noon with a DJ, face painter, and a fun photo booth.

“We’re proud to bring the best of Applebee’s and IHOP together in one convenient location for the Oakley community,” said Dine Brands’ Vice President of Company Restaurants Marshall Claychamp, in a release. “This dual-branded concept delivers choice and value all day long, from pancakes in the morning to wings and cocktails at night, while creating a versatile neighborhood gathering place for families, workers and visitors alike.”

The new joint Applebee’s/IHOP will be open from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m. seven days a week. For more information, visit IHOP’s website.
