Downtown’s Arnold’s Bar and Grill is celebrating its 12th-annual Local Local Local event this weekend, a three-day celebration of Cincinnati-based brews, musicians and beer-infused bites from Chef Kayla Robison.
More than twelve local 16-oz. draft beers will be available on draft for $3.50 over the weekend from local breweries like Christian Moerlein, Listermann’s, 50 West, Braxton, Little Kings, Urban Artifact, Rhinegeist, Madtree, Darkness, 16 Lots, Bircus, Sam Adams and more. The event will run from Thursday, Jan. 21 through Saturday, Jan. 23.
“This event brings people here to Arnold’s to get the opportunity to try new brews for a bang for their buck and discover new breweries and vendors,” Kayla Robinson, executive chef at Arnold’s, says in a statement.
Robinson has teamed up with Findlay Market and Avril & Bleh Meat Market to create several brew-infused dishes for the occasion. One mouthwatering special includes a local beer-brined New York strip steak and bleu cheese fondue sauce paired with asparagus and horseradish potatoes.
“Any type of brining for meat will help tenderize it,” she says. “And the beer will help enhance the flavor. It gives the steak a hoppy taste.”
Robinson has been featured on The Cooking Channel’s “Cheap Eats,” Food Channel’s “Guys Grocery Games,” and NBC’s “Today Show.” Robinson says she is preparing to make plenty of beer-brined New York strip steaks this weekend as well as a special appetizer.
In addition to brews and bites, the event will feature 15 hours of live music playing throughout the weekend. Thursday will host musicians Preston Charles (4-7 p.m.) and Diamond Jim Dews (7-9 p.m.); Friday will host Cheryl Renee (5-7 p.m.) and Deej (8-10 p.m.); and Sunday’s line-up includes Nicole Polera (5-7 p.m.) and Kendall Williams (8-10 p.m.).
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the eatery and bar has changed some aspects of the event while still aiming for maximum fun. Instead of a one-day party, Local Local Local will be spread over three days, with limited capacity each day to help ensure social distancing. Tables will have two-hour time limits.
