Bar owner and mixologist Molly Wellmann gained a fierce following for her boozy punch bowls at her former bar Myrtle’s Punch House in East Walnut Hills.

After the bar closed in early 2019, Molly refocused her attention on her original Over-the-Rhine bar, Japp’s, working with a designer to transform the bar into a brighter, more open space while holding onto its charm and highlighting its history.

Wellmann teased an exciting announcement on her social media accounts, officially announcing the return of the beloved punch bowls on Jan. 28. “Surprise !!!! I know you’ve missed Myrtle’s Punch ( I know cuz I literally heard about it everyday for a year!) so since I created Myrtle’s, I decided we need a little of her here at Japp’s,” Wellman’s Facebook post reads.

Japp’s will now begin offering one rotating punch on the menu, available on tap by the bowl or glass. The first punch to kick off the new series is the “Miss Myrtle,” with vodka, fresh lemon, passion juice, Riesling wine, and homemade triple sec.
