A cute new drinking and dining destination has emerged on Bellevue’s bustling Fairfield Avenue, welcoming the adventurers in life to relax, connect and reflect on their journeys.

The much-anticipated evening gathering space, Nomad, hosts its soft opening the weekend of Sept. 4-5, featuring a limited menu debuting their loaded tater tot “Totchos,” boozy and non-boozy milkshakes, cocktails and a selection of beers. There will also be live entertainment from Xander Wells on Friday night and DJ Corey on Saturday night.

“We thank everyone for your patience as we’ve navigated opening during a pandemic. It’s been quite the challenge but we are THRILLED to finally let you inside,” the bar’s Facebook event page reads.

The bar, which is located across from Bellevue’s Darkness Brewing, was formerly occupied by a bakery called Mama C’s Buttercream & Sprinkles. Now helmed in part by the owners of nearby boutique Coda Co., the space has since been completely transformed with a string-lit garden and chic, newly redesigned interior. But one of the biggest features of the bar’s concept is still on its way.

“I know many of you have been asking the burning question…. where is the bus?! Well, the simple answer is, it’s coming! Just not yet,” the event page reads.

“We are cutting through all the red tape as fast as we possibly can to get that beast of a bus down to Bellevue but it’s proved to be a bit more tricky than we originally anticipated. Know that every penny spent helps towards our ‘Bring the Bus to Bellevue’ Fund.”

Nomad’s plans include parking a renovated vintage 1976 Bristol double-decker bus on the property to offer unique additional seating.

The soft opening will run from 4-11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
