Cincinnati vegans, rejoice: local plant-focused caterer Herban Vegans is finally opening another restaurant.

Next Friday, Danielle Delaine will hold a grand opening for Herbistro, a plant-forward restaurant introducing a fresh approach to dining that is flavor-driven, and crafted for every palate. It will be located inside the Gatherall at Factory 52 in Oakley.

“A lot of people hear ‘plant-based’ and immediately think restriction,” Delaine said in a statement. “Herbistro was created to completely shift that perception. This is about flavor, creativity, comfort, experience, and making people fall in love with food all over again.”

Nearly two decades ago, Delaine began transitioning toward a plant-based lifestyle during a personal health journey, but struggled to find flavorful, satisfying food options that aligned with her needs and lifestyle.

“When I began my health journey, there weren’t many places creating the kind of food experience I was searching for,” Delaine said. “I wanted food that felt comforting, exciting, flavorful, and inclusive — not limiting. When I couldn’t find it, I decided to create it because I knew others had to be searching for it too.”

That vision eventually evolved into Herban Vegans, her plant-forward culinary brand known throughout Cincinnati. Previously, she had her own shops through Findlay Market’s accelerator program in 2021 and the now-shuttered Oakley Food Hall in 2024.

Delaine says that unlike traditional vegan restaurants that cater to niche audiences, Herbistro was intentionally designed to appeal to both plant-based and non-plant-based guests alike.

Guests can expect a rotating lineup of breakfast, lunch and dinner offerings served all day, including layered bistro plates, signature sliders, chopped salads, creative flatbreads, handcrafted beverages, smoothies and desserts.

“This isn’t just about opening doors,” Delaine said. “It’s about creating a space where people feel welcomed, inspired, connected, and excited to return. We want Herbistro to become the place people choose simply because the food genuinely tastes incredible—period.”
