If you didn’t get a chance to get your hands on the mouthwatering fried cauliflower creation at Arnold’s Bar & Grill last weekend, we have good news… the sell-out sammy is here to stay.
Chef Kayla Robison announced her vegetarian Popeye’s-inspired “chicken” sandwich on Jan. 7 as the restaurant’s weekend special. Little did she know that the offering would sell out within hours of its evening launch both nights, even after doubling her ingredients on the second day.
Needless to say, the dish was a hit, and the restaurant announced that it would begin offering it as a special every Thursday moving forward.
The mammoth of a sandwich is made with a thick slab of cauliflower, breaded and double-dipped in a Southern-style buttermilk batter — with Frank’s RedHot hot sauce and Cajun spices — then fried and topped with pickles and some housemade sauce.
The menu item will be available from 4-9 p.m. on Thursdays for carry-out or dine-in. Call 513-421-6234 to place an order.
