A CUF restaurant is closing less than a year after opening.

Cap City Fine Diner and Bar, a concept by central Ohio restaurant group Cameron Mitchell Restaurants that has three locations in the Columbus area, opened its first Cincinnati location on the ground level of Hotel Celare in December. The restaurant is known for its mix of modern elegance with the nostalgia of a classic diner, with dishes like Diner Meatloaf and desserts like the Seriously Big Chocolate Cake.

On Wednesday, the restaurant said that it would be closing at the end of the month.

“We are so thankful for our loyal fans who have wined and dined with us in Cincinnati. Join us for a last milkshake toast before our doors close,” Cap City shared on Facebook.

Cap City’s last day of service will be Saturday, Sept. 27. The restaurant did not share a reason for the closure, but social media users are speculating that its more upscale concept wasn’t well-suited for its location near the University of Cincinnati.
