One of Northside’s favorite bars is receiving some national attention.
Northside Yacht Club, the nautical-themed bar known for its Tiki drinks, peanut butter tequila, smoked wings and deep-fried cheese coneys, was named one of the Best Bars in the United States for 2026 by USA TODAY.
The bar was opened 11 years ago by Stuart McKenzie, a former protege of Cincinnati bartending legend Molly Wellmann. It combines beach-inspired decor and drinks with punk stylings — for example, take the “Caprese and Desist: Son of Anarchy,” which is essentially a Capri-Sun infused with vodka and lavender but with the name changed for copyright reasons — for an experience you’re not likely to find anywhere else in the Tri-State area, much less the rest of the country.
Last August, Guy Fieri featured Northside Yacht Club on an episode of “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.” The episode, which was the fourth in season 42 of the long-running television series, described the bar as “a funky joint with nautical flair … platin’ prime-time pulled pork poutine, mouthwatering mustard smash burgers, and savory sesame-ginger cauliflower wings.”
