Gold Star Chili is heralding the return of the king. The King Coney, that is.
The King Coney, an 11-inch coney featuring Gold Star’s signature chili and shredded cheddar cheese atop a steamed hot dog for $7.99, has returned to Gold Star locations across the Tri-State. Compared to a normal coney, it is THREE times as big.
In addition, the chili chain is launching a new series of ice cream floats, featuring five ounces of ice-cream with root beer or any soft drink inside for $4.59.
The King Coney was formerly Gold Star’s calling card and unofficial mascot. Currently, the restaurant chain is celebrating its 60th birthday.
“Bringing back a monstrous fan favorite for Gold Star’s 60th Birthday just made sense,” said President and CEO Roger David in a statement. “Pairing the classic with the launch of Gold Star’s new line of Floats demonstrates that we’ve got new tricks up our tasty sleeve. More great things are planned for our guests later this year.”
The King Coney is available now in all Gold Star locations, and is available for delivery as well if you’re insane enough to do that for some reason (and if you do, make sure to get the cheese on the side). For more information, visit Gold Star’s official website.
